This book is similar to Gypsy Rose. Rose gold and the outside world a believed that she very extremely sick. Her mother, Patty Watts however was purposely making her daughter sick, just to get all the money from fundraisers and donations from their community. Patty got locked away in prison. Rose gold, got pregnant a couple years later, the father isn‘t in the picture. (More in the comments).

Allyson Frayn Rose gold met her biological father and his new family, who she doesn‘t like, they recently had a baby boy. Rose gold moved into her childhood home, the home her mother grew up in. Her mother soon after gets out of prison and Rose gold decides that she wants her mother to move in with her. As the story progresses, we see the hatred Rose gold has for her mother and so she put the same medicine that Patty gave her to her baby.(More in the comments) (edited) 2y
Allyson Frayn Rose gold runs away, leaving her baby and her mother, her mother gets sent to prison for trying to do the same thing she did to Rose gold to Rose gold‘s baby, also for the kidnapping of her ex‘s baby (Rose gold‘s father). So Rose gold kidnapped her half sibling from her father out of jealousy, and her mother took the blame.
The theme is the twisted relationship between Rose gold and her mother, Patty. (More in the comments)

Allyson Frayn The theme is present, because Rose gold set up her mother and her mother got sent to prison. You can tell that their relationship is not that strong/healthy at all.
So if you like books that are thrillers, suspenseful Psychological thriller, Psychological Fiction, you‘ll like this book!

Allyson Frayn I would say the point of view is 3rd person. Because in the end we see that Rose gold has ran away, but we also see the POV of her mother getting arrested. 2y

Pickpick

This book is about a famous author named Paul Sheldon who gets into a car crash and his biggest fan Annie Wilkes comes and brings her to her house that is on a farm. She has this weird obsession over him and finds out that he is killing off one of the characters in his book. She gets really mad and makes him start writing a book for her about whatever she wants. If you like books that are thrilling you will like this book. (Rest in comments)

Allyson Frayn A theme in the novel is possessiveness, Annie is very possessive of Paul, she made him burn up one of his rough copies of one his books and also made him write her a whole new book. The point of view in this story is first person. There is lots of metaphors, hyperboles and foreshadowing used. (edited) 3y
MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Allyson! I have never read Stephen King - is this one scary? I would have liked a bit more on the explanation of POV but otherwise well done! 5/6 3y
